Every Flag Tells a Story!
You’ve no doubt heard the expression, “If only the walls could talk!” Well, if walls could talk, so might other inanimate objects – like flags! If they could, what do you think flags would say about their lives, the times they lived in, and the lives of the Thinkers, Discoverers, Explorers, Colonizers, Revolutionaries, and Founders that they led as they flew high above the new nation that would one day be born as “The United States of America?“
If you stop to think about it, flags would have enjoyed some pretty good vantage points from which to see and hear everything going on under them and around them, including:
ON LAND: How about the flags carried by the brave flagbearers in the midst of the chaos, smoke, noise, and blood of great battles, who led the way for the brave soldiers who were doing the fighting and dying as their generals sat on their “high horses” behind their troops directing them?
AT SEA: What about the flags that waved on high from the atop the masts of ships of war, wet, stiff, and popping in the breeze above brave American sailors like John Paul Jones aboard his ship the “Serapis?”
OUTDOOR MEETINGS: How about the flags waving lazily in the breeze from the top of “Liberty Poles” high above towns, forts, and battlegrounds where they could both see, and be seen, far into the distance? Wouldn’t they have a wider perspective and point of view of the events going on below them than the people and events they were watching?
INDOOR MEETINGS: And what about those flags that hung indoors, immobile, on the walls of buildings such as Carpenters’ Hall in Philadelphia where the first and second Continental Congresses met, or from the balconies above the many taverns, meetinghouses, and churches where important men and women were making even more important decisions about the future of our country?

In Flags of Freedom-The Quest for Freedom, readers are taken on a journey through America’s history as seen through the “Flags-Eye” observations and perspectives of over 120 of the world’s and America’s most historical flags. Each flag is magically brought to life to share with us their eyewitness accounts of the people, places and events of America’s Pre-History and Early History, and the pivotal roles they played over the 2500-year (not a typo!) journey to a new nation founded on Freedom, Equality, Justice, and Rule of Law, America!
Our journey begins in 6th century B.C. Athens with the birth of Democracy, and continues through the eras of Discovery & Exploration, Colonization, Revolution and Founding, and ends just after 9/11 in the 21st century A.D. The Flags of Freedom Trilogy covers a wide range of flags and American history. Through meticulously researched content, stunning flags and animations, illustrations, and captivating text and audio narratives by each flag, it will accomplish its primary mission of “Bringing American History to Life” for its readers, and especially for its young American readers.
But the Flags of Freedom series is more than just a collection of fun to read books – it’s a valuable educational resource. As a result of these problems, there is a continuous decline in Love of Country and Patriotism that threatens the future prosperity, safety, and if not urgently taken seriously, may threaten the future survival of our Republic and the American way of life that is envied by around the world.
